In choosing the Cooperative Nursery School for their children, parents elect to become part of a committed community, playing an active part in their child's learning. In turn, the school operations rely on parents' engaged and thoughtful involvement: the ideas and skills that families bring to the school and the exchange of ideas between parents and teachers are intrinsic to our approach. Every family co-ops (assists) during the school day on average 1 to 3 times per month. In addition, each family participates in two annual clean-up days, takes part in fundraising efforts, and contributes to other special projects
throughout the year. In addition, families
can elect to hold specific "parent
jobs" or serve on the
board. CNS is a family
friendly environment;
siblings can
generally participate
on days when parents
co-op.
